Herbal bio

My interest in natural healing started when I was 6 and saw a cat eating grass. I asked why a meat eater would eat grass and it was explained that the grass was medicinal and the cat was self medicating.

I paid attention to and sought out anything to do with natural medicine from that day on.

In 1988, at 24 years old, I made the conscious decision to become an herbalist and began studying in earnest.

Like most things I do, I'm mostly self taught.

I studied with several experienced herbalists and healers over the years. I spent a few months with Susun Weed in 1992 in Arkansas. Spent months with a Curandero in Mexico. And others...

I became a registered clinical herbalist in the late 1990s

I also spent 14 years as a vet. tech. Studied to become a Midwife but chose to become a Birth Doula instead. After about 20 years I retired from Birth Doula and became a Death Doula. I have since retired from all of it.

Around 2007 I started a free herbal clinic in Christian county Mo. And have had that going ever since.

In 2021 I became a certified herbalist, which means nothing in the US. Anyone can become one in about 4 months and $800.

The training never stops. I am constantly learning. I learn from study, research, fellow herbalists, medical field, my customers and clients.

The last few years I've been focusing on learning more about and tending to mental health. And studying medicinal mushrooms.

It started when I was 6 and is still going on today, so around 53 years of training from a great variety of recourses. And I expect much more to come.
